After having tested positive for Covid-19, a Delhi High Court judge has decided to hold court virtually..According to lawyers, the information about the judge having tested positive was shared by the court master.“We were informed that he had tested positive earlier this week. And though the court did not assemble for a couple of days, the judge was soon back virtually and has been holding court for a few days now,” the lawyer said.Lawyers have lauded the effort saying that it is heartening to see the judge deal with the matters despite the fact that he is not well.“It is heartening to note that despite personal challenges, the court is ensuring that people continue to have access to justice. The judges of the honourable High Court have shown great adaptability to the use of technology for conducting court hearings through virtual platforms. This shows their sensitivity towards the huge backlog as well,” said Kunal Vajani, a lawyer practicing at the Delhi High Court..Meanwhile, another judge, sitting on a division bench informed the court on Friday that some person in his staff/family has tested positive and, therefore, he too will hold the court virtually for a few days.“Unfortunately, some people in my staff/family have tested positive. I have also had my test done therefore we are not sure if we will be sitting physically for a few days or not,” the judge informed in open court.
