Will send proposal to MHA on prisoners' right to seek conjugal visits: Delhi government to Delhi High Court

The submission was made during the hearing of a public interest litigation filed by advocate Amit Sahni in 2019 for declaration of conjugal visits in prison as a fundamental right of the prisoner and their spouse.

The Delhi government recently told the Delhi High Court that the Director General, Prisons has forwarded a proposal to its Home Department in relation to the right of prisoners to seek conjugal visits [Amit Sahni v. Govt. of NCT, Delhi and Anr].
