Delhi High Court sets aside order directing Indian Express to raise retirement age from 58 to 60

The Court set aside an industrial tribunal order directing the increase of the retirement age, observing that such a move would involve a very high economic impact which was not properly assessed by the tribunal.

In a major relief to The Indian Express group, the Delhi High Court recently set aside an order of the industrial tribunal raising the retirement age of its employees from 58 years to 60 years with effect from the year 2009 [The Indian Express P Ltd v The Indian Express Newspapers Workers Union Regd and Anr].
