Suhaan has extensive experience in policy formulation and has served on a number of government committees. In June 2013, Suhaan had resigned from Amarchand Mangaldas to focus on his work as Expert Advisor, Office of Advisor to the Prime Minister of India on P-III & Innovation, Sam Pitroda.

Suhaan, who has more than 11 years of experience is a graduate of National Law School of India University, Bangalore and has completed his Masters in Law from the London School of Economics. When asked as to what distinguished his firm he said, “Legal advice has to be definite, relevant and actionable for a General Counsel, it also has to be sustainable in the long-term given clients’ priorities. In contrast to a relatively blinkered approach, in today’s dynamic legal, policy and regulatory environment you are required to be able to assimilate all the moving parts in the ecosystem in which your client functions, before you render any advice – that is when you create value for the client. Understanding the policy and regulatory pulse for the client is critical to legal practice going forward and that is what differentiates PLR.”

The firm is structured into different teams, with each group specializing in specific practice domains. The team’s core members include Aditya Prakash Rao, Sudhanshu Roy and Sowmya Rao.

Aditya and Sudhanshu have joined Suhaan from Amarchand Mangaldas where both of them started their careers with the Public Policy & Regulatory Affairs practice group, resigning as Principal Associate (designate) and Associate respectively. Aditya, who is a graduate of ILS Pune, is also serving as a Senior Consultant with the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, while Sudhanshu, who is a graduate of Hidayatullah National Law University, is also currently serving as a Senior Consultant with the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance.

Sowmya, a graduate of NALSAR University, has worked with the National Institute for Public Finance and Policy, where she was a legal consultant to the Financial Sector Legislative Reforms Commission. After a stint with Luthra & Luthra law offices Delhi, she joined Clifford Chance qualifying as a UK Solicitor before moving to India to focus on financial law and policy.

It is understood that Sandip Beri, who had joined Amarchand Mangaldas from Citi is now heading the firm’s Regulatory and Policy practice.
