[Hijab case] Comparisons with turban in Sikhism incorrect: Supreme Court to petitioners

A bench headed by Justice Hemant Gupta said turbans worn by Sikhs is part of the five compulsory ingredients of Sikhism and has also been recognised by the Supreme Court as such.

In the case challenging the hijab ban in Karnataka government educational institutions, the Supreme Court on Thursday told the petitioners that comparisons with turbans worn by Sikhs will be improper.
