Hyderabad civil court receives bomb threat

An anonymous threat reportedly claimed that the bombs were strategically placed in the Judge’s chambers and other parts of the Civil Court complex.

A civil court in Hyderabad on Tuesday received a bomb threat, leading to suspension of the judicial work and evacuation of the court premises.

Bomb disposal squads and sniffer dog teams were deployed to conduct a thorough search of the premises for any possible explosives. Lawyers and litigants were promptly asked to vacate the court complex.

According to a news report of The Hindu, an email, received at 3:43 am, claimed that the bombs were strategically placed in the Judge’s chambers and other parts of the Civil Court complex. 

The email was brought to our attention around 10.30 a.m.. We have vacated the area and deployed bomb squads for inspection. No suspicious items have been found so far,” according to a police officer quoted by the newspaper.
