Jammu and Kashmir High Court seeks response from Union Territory of J&K on Waheed Para plea to travel abroad for Yale Peace Fellowship

Para moved the High Court after his plea was rejected by an NIA Court on concerns that the investigation and trial against him in a UAPA case would be hampered if he is allowed to travel abroad.

The High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh recently issued notice to the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on a plea by People Democratic Party (PDP) youth leader, Waheed Ur Rehman Para seeking permission to travel abroad to pursue a three-month Peace Fellowship programme at Yale University [Waheed ur Rehman Para v.
