Rouse Avenue Court Special Judge (PC Act) MK Nagpal, who had been hearing the cases relating to Delhi excise policy scam, has been transferred. .Judge Nagpal will now assume charge as the District Judge (Commercial Court)-13, Central, Tis Hazari Courts. Judge Kaveri Baweja will replace Nagpal. .Judge Nagpal has been hearing the liquor policy case since its inception. Notably, several high profile people like former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh and Telangana legislator and daughter of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, K Kavitha have been arrested in the case. While Sisodia and Singh are in judicial custody, Kavitha is under Enforcement Directorate (ED) remand. .According to the transfer posting list issued by the Delhi High Court, a total 27 judges (including Nagpal) of the Delhi Higher Judicial Services (DHJS) have been transferred.
