The Central government on Tuesday notified the appointment of Justice Sujoy Paul as the acting Chief Justice of Telangana High Court..The appointment was made since the current Chief Justice of Telangana, Justice Alok Aradhe, has been transferred to Bombay High Court as its Chief Justice."In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Justice Sujoy Paul, Judge of the Telangana High Court, to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of that High Court consequent upon transfer of Shri Justice Alok Aradhe, Chief Justice of Telangana High Court as Chief Justice of Bombay High Court," a notification published on website of Law Ministry's Department of Justice said..Justice Paul enrolled as advocate in the year 1990 with the Bar Council of Madhya Pradesh.He practiced in civil, constitutional, industrial, service and other branches of law and appeared before various courts. He was elevated as judge of High Court Madhya Pradesh at Jabalpur on May 27, 2011 and was made a permanent Judge on April 14, 2014.Later, Justice Paul himself requested for a transfer on the ground that his son practices before the Madhya Pradesh the High Court.The same was allowed and he was transferred to Telangana High Court where he assumed office on March 26, 2024. .[Read Notification]
