Karnataka High Court issues notice to State on plea challenging enhanced reservation to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes

The new law aims to increase reservation from 15% to 17% for Scheduled Castes and from 3% to 7% for Scheduled Tribes.

The Karnataka High Court on Thursday issued notice to the State government in a petition challenging the constitutional validity of the Karnataka Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Reservation of Seats in Educational Institutions and of Appointments or Posts in the Services under the State) Act, 2023.
