The Governing Body of Consortium of National Law Universities on Friday unanimously elected Professor (Dr.) Vijender Kumar, Vice chancellor of Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur as the convener of Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2021. .Kumar succeeds Prof. Balraj Chauhan who served as convener of CLAT 2020 which witnessed the withdrawal of National Law School of India University, Bengaluru (NLSIU) from the consortium leading to chaos and eventually culminating in a litigation before the Supreme Court. .[Breaking] Supreme Court quashes conduct of NLAT 2020; NLSIU to admit students through CLAT this year.Vice Chancellor of NALSAR Hyderabad, Professor (Dr.) Faizan Mustafa has been elected new President of the Executive Committee of Consortium of NLUs while NLU, Jodhpur Vice Chancellor, Professor (Dr.) Poonam Saxena will be the new Vice President. Mustafa succeeds Professor (Dr.) V Vijayakumar of NLIU Bhopal who will continue as the member of the Executive Committee..The new Executive Committee is expected to meet soon to work out and finalise the details of CLAT 2021.
