'Cash for vote' promises by political parties: Delhi High Court seeks response from Centre, ECI

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday issued notice to the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Central government on a petition to declare cash transfer promises made by political parties during election seasons a "corrupt practice" under Section 123 of the Representation of People Act, 1951 (Parashar Narayan Sharma and anr v. Union of India and ors).
