Centre has been requesting Chief Justices to consider SC/ST, OBC, minorities, women candidates for judgeship: Kiren Rijiju

The Law Minister stated the same in a letter written to Tamil Nadu MP P Wilson who had written to Rijiju highlighting lack of social diversity in the Supreme Court and High Court.

The Central government has been requesting Chief Justices of High Courts to give due consideration to candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, minorities and women while sending proposal for appointment of High Courts judges.
