Centre notifies appointment of 6 lawyers as Karnataka High Court judges

The working strength of the Karnataka High Court will now rise to 54 judges.

The Central government on Friday notified the appointment of 6 lawyers as additional judges of the Karnataka High Court.

Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal made the announcement via a post on X.

The advocates appointed as additional judges are

  • Raghavendra Seetharam Srivatsa;

  • Hema Kulkarni;

  • Subramanya Rangarao;

  • Vivekananda Thadagavadi Prakash;

  • Pramod Bakkeswara; and

  • Shanthi Bhushan Hombe Gowda

The appointment was made pursuant to a recommendation made by the Supreme Court Collegium on June 2.

The working strength of the Karnataka High Court will now rise to 54 judges as against its sanctioned 62 judges.
