Chief Justice RS Chauhan transferred from Telangana to Uttarakhand High Court, Chief Justice Mohammad Rafiq to helm Madhya Pradesh High Court

The Central Government has issued the notification pursuant to Collegium recommendations made on December 14.

The Central Government has notified the transfer of new Chief Justices to the High Courts of Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh.

Chief Justice RS Chauhan has been transferred from the Telangana High Court to be appointed as the new Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court.

Chief Justice Mohammad Rafiq, who was manning the Orissa High Court, has been appointed as the Madhya Pradesh High Court Chief Justice.

Chief Justice Rafiq will take over from Acting Chief Justice Sanjay Yadav, who, on a related note, had been recommended for a transfer to the Allahabad High Court.

As reported earlier, Chief Justice Dr S Muralidhar and Chief Justice Hima Kohli have been appointed to helm the Orissa and Telangana High Courts.


The Supreme Court Collegium had passed resolutions recommending these transfers on December 14.
