A lawyer's commitment in securing anticipatory bail for his client at the cost of delaying his own wedding ceremonies found its way into an order passed by a single judge bench of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on October 28.

The High Court while allowing anticipatory bail to the accused due to the "inordinate delay in filing of the challan by the prosecution" also recorded the submission made by the lawyer regarding how the hearing in the case had delayed his Doli ceremony.

The petitioner's advocate, Lupil Gupta, had told the court that he got married on October 27 and the Doli ceremony, which was to happen on the morning of October 28 was delayed on account of the hearing in the case.
