A Delhi Court today granted time to Delhi Police to file its comprehensive reply in the anticipatory bail plea moved by Nikita Jacob in the toolkit FIR registered by Delhi Police in connection the farmers' protest (State vs Nikita Jacob)..Additional Sessions Judge Dharmender Rana directed that the copy of the response shall be supplied to Jacob in advance. ."Bail application of co-accused Shantanu is listed for 9th. This may be listed on that date and same submissions may be taken," APP Irfan Ahmed said. .Ahmed informed the Court that Shantanu and Nikita had joined the investigation and more time was needed to file a detailed response..During the ongoing interrogation, there were "contradictory replies" which necessitated further confrontation, Ahmed said. .Today, Senior Advocate Rebecca John who appeared for Jacob urged the Court for a standalone hearing in the present matter.."I don't want all these matters on the same date. It will create an overlap," she said. .Stating that he didn't understand the "apprehension", Judge Rana proceeded to list the matter on the same say as Shantanu's bail hearing date i.e. March 9. .John informed the Court that Jacob's interim protection in the case ends on March 10. .Shantanu's interim protection was extended by the Court till March 9. .On February 17, the Bombay High Court had granted Nikita Jacob protection from arrest for three weeks in the case.Jacob's house was raided by the Delhi Police on February 11, after which a non-bailable warrant was issued against her.Seeking transit anticipatory bail, Jacob had told the Bombay High Court that she had no religious, political or financial motive for researching, editing, or circulating communication packs/toolkits for raising awareness, let alone to incite violence and riots. In the same FIR, Disha Ravi has already been granted bail.
