The present bail plea has been moved in FIR No. 59/2020 registered at PS Crime Branch for Delhi riots.
The Delhi High Court on Tuesday issued notice in a bail plea preferred by Pinjra tod activist, Natasha Narwal in connection with a Delhi riots case against her. (Natasha Narwal vs State)
Notice to Delhi Police was issued by a Single Judge Bench of Justice Vibhu Bakhru.
Narwal is an accused in as many as four FIRs pertaining to the anti-CAA protests and Delhi riots.
The present bail plea has been moved in FIR No. 59/2020 registered at PS Crime Branch for Delhi riots and involves commission of offences under the Unlawful Assembly Prevention Act.
She has been in judicial custody in Tihar Jail since she was arrested in May 2020. Last month, her judicial remand in the FIR was extended till August 14.
The other accused in the FIR are Pinjra tod activist Devangana Kalita, former Congress municipal councillor Ishrat Jahan, Jamia student Safoora Zargar etc.
Safoora was released on bail on humanitarian grounds owing to her pregnancy earlier this year.
While extending the remand, Additional Sessions Court, Patiala House Court had requested the DCP concerned to personally monitor the investigation.
Kalita's bail plea in another Delhi riots FIR No. 50/2020 registered at PS Jafrabad for Delhi riots is pending before another High Court Bench.
Narwal's bail plea would be heard next on August 28.
