Delhi Higher Judicial Service 2022: Delhi High Court dismisses candidate's plea seeking appointment against unfilled SC/ST seats

The court said that petitioner does not have any indefeasible right to be appointed to the DHJS and cannot claim, as a matter of right, that the vacancies for SC/ST candidates be de-reserved.

The Delhi High Court recently dismissed a petition by a candidate seeking appointment against the unfilled seats reserved for the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) persons in the Delhi Higher Judicial Service 2022 (DHJS) by de-reserving them [Rabindra Tiwary v Lt. Governor, Govt. of NCT of Delhi & Anr].
