FIR against former Karnataka INC MLA Vijayanand Kashappanavar for organising 80,000-strong rally in violation of COVID guidelines

Karnataka government informed the Karnataka High Court of the same on Tuesday during the hearing of a case filed by NGO LetzKit Foundation seeking proper enforcement of COVID-19 guidelines in the State.

A case has been registered against Vijayanand Kashappanavar, former MLA of Congress party and President of Akhila Bharatha Lingayat Panchamasali Mahasabha, under the Disaster Management Act for congregating an 80,000-strong rally in violation of social distancing norms and without wearing of masks on February 21.
