New energy has been infused into legal fraternity and judiciary after Justice NV Ramana took over as Chief Justice of India (CJI) in April this year, Orissa High Court Chief Justice Dr. S Muralidhar said on Saturday..There have been palpable changes since then and the foundations of judiciary have become even more strong, Justice Muralidhar said."I must say a few words about the Chief Justice (Ramana) in the 5 months that he took over. There is a new energy infused. We talk of the foundations being very strong. It is as if the foundation has got even stronger. It's palpable, the changes we are seeing. These are changes for the better. This has been received very positively among people," he said.Justice Muralidhar was giving the welcome address at the inauguration of the new building of the Odisha State Legal Services Authority..Justice Muralidhar also highlighted how more women judges are becoming part of the judiciary."I am also finding that the profile of the judiciary is changing. We have more women officers at all levels. That itself is a very, very positive sign," he said.The event is still in progress.
