Plea in Delhi High Court challenges ASI refusal to permit Chhatrapati Shivaji birth anniversary celebration at Agra Fort

It was submitted that the petitioners and the people of Maharashtra are emotionally attached to the Agra Fort where Shivaji, along with seven of his sons, was kept captive by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.

A petition has been filed before the Delhi High Court challenging an order of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) refusing permission to conduct a cultural programme at the Agra Fort to celebrate the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on February 19 [RR Patil Foundation v ASI].e
