Three new judges appointed for Jharkhand High Court

The Central government has cleared a recommendation by the Supreme Court Collegium to appoint three judicial officers as judges of the Jharkhand High Court.

The three newly appointed High Court judges are:

(i) Manoj Prasad;

(ii) Akhil Kumar; and

(iii) Ram Sharma

The development was announced on X this morning by Union Minister (in charge) of Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal.

The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended the names of the newly appointed judges at its meeting held on September 10.

The Jharkhand High Court has a sanctioned strength of 25 judges. It had been functioning with 13 judges, with 12 posts vacant. With the latest appointments, the working strength of the High Court will rise to 16 judges.
