Use of the phrase ‘Vande Mataram’ was not only going to give a sense of belongingness (amongst citizens), but also give a positive direction to the conversation and infuse new energy, the resolution states.

The Maharashtra government on Saturday issued a government resolution (GR) making it mandatory for all government employees and those working in state-funded institutions to initiate any telephonic conversation with individuals and/or subordinates by saying 'Vande Mataram' instead of ‘Hello’.
