Attempt to scandalize judiciary: NCLT & AT Bar Association condemns allegations against Justice NV Ramana by Andhra CM

The National Company Law Tribunal and Appellate Tribunal Bar Association has passed a resolution condemning the allegations made by Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jaganmohan Reddy against Supreme Court Judge, Justice NV Ramana and other Judges of the Andhra Pradesh High Court..In his letter addressed to CJI Bobde, CM Reddy had alleged that former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was using the High Court to destabilize and topple the democratically elected state government..The letter alleged that since the new government undertook an inquiry into the actions of Naidu during his 2014-2019 regime, it was now clear, that a sitting Supreme Court judge "started influencing the course of administration of justice in the State, through the Chief Justice...”.The Resolution which was passed on October 15 reads, .Writing and circulation of the alleged letter dated October 6, 2020 by Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, Chief Minister of the State of Andhra Pradesh to the Chief Justice of India, levelling the charges of corruption and bias against Hon’ble Mr Justice NV Ramana, Judge, Supreme Court of India and Hon’ble Judges of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh, the same being unwarranted, lack in propriety, scandalize and breach of the independence of the judiciary.”.It is stated that levelling of charges is an attempt to scandalize the judiciary and legal fraternity..The Bar Association unequivocally, categorically and in the strongest possible terms, further condemns the allegations cast upon the Hon’ble Mr Justice NV Ramana..Justice NV Ramana one of the most virtuous Judges: DHCBA condemns allegations by Andhra CM.Earlier this month, resolutions condemning the allegations was passed by the Delhi High Court Bar Association and Bar Council of India. .Recently, a petition was also filed in the Supreme Court seeking directions to Reddy to refrain from making public statements or holding press conferences to malign the “august institution of the Supreme Court” and its judges..Read the resolution:
