NCLT requests Members to attend office, hear matters through video conferencing

The National Company Law Tribunal has issued an Office Memorandum, requesting its Members to attend the office with immediate effect.

The Members have also been asked to conduct hearings through video conferencing from office.

The office Memorandum was issued by the Regisrar, NCLT with the approval of the Acting President.

The officers of the level of Registrar, Deputy Registrar, Assistant Registrar, Senior Account Officer, Accountant, Court officers have also been directed to attend the office regularly.

For other staff, the HOD of the Bench concerned has been directed to prepare a roster so as to ensure that 50% of staff attends offices on every alternate day.

Those officers/staff who are not required to attend office on a particular day shall work from home and should be available at all times, it is said.

Since the imposition of lockdown, NCLTs have suspended their judicial work and only unavoidable urgent matters are being heard.

Earlier this month, a list of Members was notified to hear urgent cases virtually.

Recently, eleven members of NCLT were transferred from one bench to another.
