The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Thursday directed the State of Punjab to pay ₹2,180 crores as Environmental Compensation for failing to treat solid and liquid waste [In re: Compliance of Municipal Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016 and other environmental issue].
