No judicial or administrative work till July 19 on account of COVID-19: Calcutta HC [Read Notification]
Citing the rising number of COVID-19 containment zones and infections in the city, the Calcutta High Court has suspended its functioning till July 19.
Extending the application of its July 9 notification, the Calcutta High Court has suspended judicial and administrative work in its premises till July 19, 2020 (Sunday).
The notification comes in the wake of a rise in the number of patients infected with the coronavirus and the resultant increase in containment zones across the city.
The State of West Bengal has reported a total of 30,013 cases (as of July 12) of coronavirus infections.
Yesterday, the Patna High Court ordered the near-complete closure of the Court premises with effect till July 15. The Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Jammu and Kashmir High Courts also issued notices of closure and/or suspension of proceedings in the recent days.
