The Delhi Government has decided to roll out online application forms with OTP facility on the website of State Law Department for advocates who intend to avail the benefits of the Chief Minister’s Advocates Welfare Scheme..CM’s Advocates Welfare Scheme: Committee proposes Group Term Insurance, Group Medi-Claim, e-library, creche for advocates.Based on the verification undertaken by the Bar Council of Delhi, 40,115 advocates are eligible for the benefits under the Scheme..The decision to implement the Scheme was taken in a meeting chaired by the State Law Minister, Kailash Gehlot on March 16..“IT Department shall prepare a customized on-line application form with OTP facility which shall be available at a link on the website of Law department.This application form may be filed in by the advocate who intends to avail the benefits of the scheme.”, the Minutes of the meeting state..The link to the application form on the website of Law Dept. shall get activated on March 21, 2020 (Saturday) at 9:30 am, and shall remain functional till March 31 2020..The Law Dept shall also make adequate publicity about the step by means of a public notice in leading newspapers as well as by sending communication to Bar Associations in different courts in the city and the Bar Council of Delhi..The Law dept shall also send an SMS to the verified members of Bar Council of Delhi..In November last year, Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal had announced that a 13-member committee of lawyers would be set up to make recommendations on the utilization of the Rs. 50 crore earmarked for the Advocates Welfare Fund by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government..The Committee had then proposed rolling out Group (Term) Insurance, Group Medi-Claim, e-library and creche for advocates in Delhi towards the utilization of the Chief Minister’s Advocates Welfare Scheme..The proposal was subsequently accpeted by the Delhi Government..CM Advocates Welfare Fund: Delhi Government accepts recommendations of Advocates Committee.Read the Minutes of the Meeting:
