The Supreme Court on Tuesday sought the response of the Central government and the States to a public interest litigation petition seeking measures to ensure time bound probe and trial in exam question paper leak cases.

A bench of Justices PS Narasimha and Alok Aradhe issued notice to the Centre and States on a plea filed by BJP leader Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay seeking directions to formulate a ‘standard questionnaire and special investigation procedure’ in order to ensure time-bound investigation and speedy trial of paper leak cases.
