Seventeen Sub Judges appointed as District Judges in Jammu & Kashmir on ad hoc basis for six months

Seventeen sub-judges have been appointed as District Judges in Jammu & Kashmir on an ad hoc basis for a period of six months. .The order to that effect was passed by the secretary to Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.As recommended by the (Jammu & Kashmir) High Court, sanction, in terms of rule 20 of the Jammu and Kashmir Higher Judicial Service Rules 2009, is accorded to the ad-hoc appointment of seventeen sub judges as District judges, the order said. .The seventeen persons who have been appointed are:▪Abdul Nasir▪Surinder Singh▪Javid Ahmad Gilani▪Mohd Amin Mir▪Ajay Kumar Gupta▪Sudhir Kumar Khajuria▪Om Prakash Thakur▪Gawher Majid Dalal▪Javed Alam▪Mehraj-ud-Din Sofi▪Surjeet Singh Bali▪Om Prakash Bhagat▪Manjeet Singh Manhas▪Naushad Ahmad Khan▪Som Lal▪Mohammad Ashraf Bhat▪Pardeep Kumar.The appointments shall be for a period of six months or till the regular selection/appointment is made, the order further said. .It was also made clear that the ad hoc appointments shall not confer any right to claim any seniority or any other superior right to the adh oc appointees vis-a-vis those who may be appointed pursuant to regular selection against direct or LEC quota..The ad hoc appointees shall be reverted to the cadre of civil judges (Sr. Division)/ sub-judges in case they are not found fit for promotion to the post of District Judge after regular selection process or in case sufficient posts are not available for their promotion on regular basis..[Read Order]
