Sharjeel Imam: Why Delhi court decided to frame sedition, UAPA charges

The Court noted that Imam had lambasted almost every institution, Constitution and the ideas of democracy and secularism besides the entire polity including the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi.

A Delhi Court recently decided to frame charges against Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student Sharjeel Imam for sedition under Section 124A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and for offences under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
