Sunil Gavaskar moves Delhi High Court to protect his personality rights

Former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has approached the Delhi High Court seeking protection of his personality rights [Sunil Gavaskar v Cricket Tak (CricketTak557) and Ors].

The case is scheduled to be heard by Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora on December 12 (Friday).

He has sought directions against several entities to restrain them from unauthorisedly using his persona.

Gavaskar is the first cricketer to move Court in a personality rights litigation.

Earlier, celebrities like Amitabh BachchanAishwarya Rai BachchanAbhishek BachchanNagarjunaAnil KapoorJackie ShroffKaran JoharSri Sri Ravi Shankar, Jaggi Vasudev had approached the Delhi High Court and secured order protecting their personality rights.

Most recently, Salman Khan approached the Delhi High Court with a personality rights suit.
