The petition filed by the senior counsel on black money in the country. Check evening updates to know more about today’s hearing.

Today in court: The Supreme Court today asked the Central government to submit details of the steps taken by it to implement the recommendations of the Special Investigation Team (SIT). The SIT has been directed to submit its next report by October 7, 2015. The case will now be taken up on October 28.

Delhi High Court

1. Association of Radio Taxis v. Bhavish Aggarwal

[Item 4 in Court 8 – Cont. Cas (C) 643/2015]

Bench: Manmohan J. 

A contempt petition filed by Association of Radio Taxis against OLA Cabs. The genus of the petition was that OLA Cabs were still plying in the city despite a Single Bench order of the Delhi HC and later, a Division Bench that had refused to lift the ban on the cab service imposed by the Delhi Govt.

On the last hearing, the Bench had sought a status report from the Delhi Govt and traffic police as to the steps taken to enforce the ban.

2. ANI Technologies Pvt Ltd. v. Govt of NCT of Delhi & Ors

[Item 30 in Court 8 – Writ Petition (Civil) 6668/2015]

Bench: Manmohan J. 

A petition filed by app-based cab service provider OLA stating that it is not covered under the purview of the amended Radio Taxi Scheme enacted by the Delhi Government, primarily because all their cabs have All India Permits to ply.

Earlier, a Single Bench had refused to lift the ban on the cab service imposed by the Delhi Govt. The said decision was confirmed by a Division Bench.

Today in Court: The Bench adjourned the matter along with the contempt petition to be heard on October 5.

National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission

1. Union of India v. Nestle India Ltd, Nestle House

[Item in in Court 6 – CC/870/2015]

Bench: VK Jain J, Dr. BC Gupta

A class action suit filed by the Government against Nestle, citing ‘serious violations under the Consumer Act’ by the Company while selling its popular 2 minute noodles – Maggi.

On the last hearing, the Bench had issued notice to Nestle and sought its reply over the next month.

Today in Court: Consumer organization Mumbai Grahak Panchayat sought to be impleaded in the matter which was allowed. The matter will now come up on September 30.
