Transgender persons should be given separate reservation, not clubbed with women's reservation: Madras High Court

Justice MS Ramesh criticised the move of the State Government in providing combined reservation to women and transgenders, stating this was violative of NALSA judgment of the Supreme Court.

The Madras High Court on Wednesday strongly recommended the State government to provide a specific percentage of separate reservation for the Third Gender (TG) or transgender persons in matters of future public employments [Saratha v The Member Secretary].
