Trilegal Competition Head, Rahul Singh leaves to pursue PhD at Oxford; Replaced by Mumbai Corporate Partner Amit Tambe

Trilegal Counsel and Head of the firm’s Competition Practice, Rahul Singh has recently left for UK to pursue a Ph.D. at Oxford University. Mumbai Corporate Partner, Amit Tambe (pictured) will replace Rahul Singh and head the firm’s Competition Practice.

It is understood that Rahul Singh will now be working with the firm as an Of Counsel while Amit Tambe will be heading the Competition Practice.

Rahul is doing his research on the “Emerging Jurisprudence of Indian Competition Law” at Balliol College, Oxford, where he is a Commonwealth Scholar.

He joined Trilegal in November 2010, prior to which he was an Associate Director at the Bar Council of India’s Directorate of legal education). A graduate of the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, Rahul completed an LL.M from Harvard University. In 2005, he joined NLSIU as the competition law assistant professor.

Amit Tambe, who is a graduate of GLC Mumbai, joined Trilegal in 2004 after working at Desai & Diwanji for about five years. He was made Equity Partner in 2011.
