A trademark infringement case moved before the Delhi High Court by the Aroon Purie-owned Education Today Trust, which runs the Vasant Valley school in New Delhi, against a Telangana school over the 'Vasant Valley' name has been settled. .In the suit it was alleged that a Telangana-based school was infringing the trademarks in ‘Vasant Valley’ by using the name without authorisation.The parties later settled the matter, whereby the Telangana school agreed to stop using the 'Vasant Valley' name. Justice Tushar Rao Gedela passed a decree on the basis of the May 12 settlement agreement, and closed the case. .As per the settlement agreement, the Telangana-based school gave an undertaking that it shall not use the trademark Vasant Valley or any other deceptively similar mark.It stated that it shall stop the use of the trademark on all its materials such as, goods, banners, hoardings, stationery, uniforms, catalogues, brochures by June 30.It also agreed to change its name by filing an appropriate application with the Education Department of the State of Telangana or the Telangana State Board of Secondary Education within thirty days of this order..The school added that it has permanently taken down the official website, social media accounts, Just Dial page and YouTube channel carrying the 'Vasant Valley' name. It further agreed to permanently refrain from using any domain name with ‘Vasant Valley.'
