Verus Advocates Senior Partner Jay Parikh has resigned from the firm and will be leaving by the end of this month. According to our sources, it is most likely that Parikh is joining Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas in Mumbai.

Parikh will also become the fifth senior lateral hire for Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas with others being Abhishek Sinha, Iqbal Khan, Deepto Roy and Radhika Pareira.

Parikh had joined Verus in 2012 from Bharucha & Partners along with Dipankar Bandyopadhyay to head the corporate practice.

Speaking to Bar & Bench, Parikh said,

“It has been an exhilarating three years at Verus. I am now just taking some time off to think what next.”

Parikh started his career at the Mumbai office of Amarchand Mangaldas after graduating from NUJS in 2006 and later moved to Bharucha & Partners in 2008.

The firm has also promoted Charles De Souza to partnership. He joined Verus in 2011 from Bharucha & Partners and works in a number of areas including Arbitration, Debt Recovery, and General Corporate Advisory.
