Recognizing the imperative to address evolving challenges brough into the legal landscape by rapid globalization and technological advancements, Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur is organizing Confluence of Codes: International Conference on Securities, Arbitration, and Taxation (ICSAT-2025), scheduled from November 1-2, 2025.

The conference invites scholars, legal practitioners, researchers, and policy experts to engage in a rigorous academic dialogue on emerging legal paradigms in the field of corporate law, financial regulation, arbitration, and taxation.

The Conference is organized under HNLU's three academic Centres of research, namely, Centre for Securities Law (CSL), Centre for Domestic and International Taxation (CDIT), and Centre for Commercial Arbitration (CCA).

ICSAT 2025 will aim to foster interdisciplinary conversations that reflect the rapidly evolving legal landscape of global finance and governance. The Conference will offer participants a platform to present original research, discuss pressing legal issues, and collaborate across fields.

Sub-themes

Participants are encouraged to submit papers & presentations on the following sub-themes

Securities Law & Financial Regulation

  • IPO governance, listing compliance, and post-IPO liability

  • Securities fraud detection, whistleblower protections, and internal control systems

  • Cross-border market integrity and board oversight in securities regulation

  • Technological disruption, cyber resilience, and board-level risk governance

  • ESG disclosures, shareholder activism, and director accountability

  • Comparative board governance practices in global securities markets

  • Role of institutional investors in shaping corporate governance norms

Commercial Arbitration & Mediation

  • Innovations in procedures for international commercial arbitration

  • Enforcement and challenge of arbitral awards across jurisdictions

  • Third-party funding, ethical considerations, and transparency in arbitration

  • Design and enforceability of mediation and hybrid ADR mechanisms

  • Use of Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) in cross-border commercial matters

  • Role of arbitration in resolving corporate governance and shareholder disputes

  • Legal significance of arbitration clauses and corporate fiduciary duties

Domestic & International Taxation

  • Taxation challenges in the digital economy and platform-based business models

  • Issues in transfer pricing, BEPS (Base Erosion and Profit Shifting), and multinational tax governance

  • Legal and policy perspectives on OECD’s Pillar One and Pillar Two reforms

  • Tackling tax avoidance and evasion within corporate ethical frameworks

  • International tax treaty reforms and cross-border dispute resolution mechanisms

  • Implications of Digital Services Taxes (DSTs) on global trade systems

  • Governance and risk management in corporate tax compliance

  • Emerging issues in indirect taxation and international supply chains

Important Deadlines

  • Extended Abstract Submission: August 21, 2025 (500–1000 words)

  • Notification of Acceptance: August 28, 2025

  • Early Bird Registration Deadline: September 11, 2025

  • Final Registration Deadline: September 30, 2025

  • Final Paper Submission (Post-Conference): January 6, 2026

All abstracts must clearly state the research problem, methodology, and key arguments. Submissions will be reviewed by an academic panel.

Full Fee (by 30 Sept): UG/PG Students ₹1500| Ph.D. Scholars ₹2000 | Professionals/Others ₹2500

Registration includes conference meals. Accommodation is available on campus for an additional charge, subject to availability.

Conference Incentives and Publication

Best Presentation Certificates will be awarded in each session. Selected papers, revised in light of peer feedback, will be considered for publication in an edited volume with an ISBN.
