

National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi), Centre for Law and Urban Development is inviting original blog submissions examining contemporary issues at the intersection of law, policy, and urban development from academics, legal practitioners, policymakers, and students.
Submissions should offer insightful analysis, critical perspectives, innovative solutions on recent development, or on any theme related to the intersection between law and urban development.
Real Estate & Housing Policy – Exploring legal frameworks, redevelopment and regulatory incentives that shape affordable housing and urban inclusion.
Urban Taxation & City Finance – Analysing property tax systems,
development incentives, infrastructure levies, and compliance reforms driving equitable urban growth.
Healthcare & Pharma Regulation – Examining policy frameworks, health infrastructure planning, and regulatory mechanisms shaping access to healthcare and medical innovation in cities.
Urban Project Financing & Insolvency Frameworks – Assessing how insolvency law, banking regulations, SEBI frameworks, REIT mechanisms and other financing models influence real estate and infrastructure projects in urban India.
Collaborative Models for Urban Infrastructure – Reimagining PPP frameworks through effective risk-sharing, public interest safeguards, and policy innovations for resilient city projects.
Smart Cities & Digital Infrastructure – Unpacking the policy and legal
frameworks governing data, IoT, and connectivity in the next generation of urban development.
Green & Sustainable Cities – Analysing regulations and incentives for green buildings, climate-resilient planning, and environmentally sustainable urban governance.
Construction & Materials Regulation – Exploring building codes, quality
standards, and the role of core industries in shaping safe and efficient urban infrastructure.
Power, Water & Urban Utilities – Reviewing regulatory reforms in electricity, water, and waste management to improve delivery, accountability, and city sustainability.
Themes are only indicative and not exhaustive, there is no strict requirement that the submission needs to fall under the above heads. The submissions must be analytical in nature and not descriptive.
Word limit: Articles can be anywhere between 800 to 1500 words. In case a relaxation in word count is required, please write to us so that we can consider your request.
Use of images: Images, graphs and tables may be used wherever necessary to illustrate a point. Authors are encouraged to include relevant case studies, empirical data, or policy analysis to support their arguments.
Abstract: An abstract no longer than 50 words, briefly describing the content of the blog, needs to be sent along with the submission. Please note that the abstract should be sent separately and not as part of the main blog.
Author details: Please include a brief author bio of around 100 words along with a high- resolution photo with the submission. A link to the LinkedIn Profile of the author (if existing) also needs to be attached.
Co-authorship: Co-authorship of up to two authors is allowed.
Formatting and referencing
The text needs to be formatted according to these guidelines: Font - Times New Roman, Font Size - 12, Line Spacing - 1.5, Paragraph Spacing - 6 above and 6 below.
Title must be Bold and Underlined. The text of the title must be in Sentence Case, not all caps or small caps. Heading 2 must be Bold and Heading 3 must be underlined.
Margins must be one inch from all sides. No borders are permitted.
Any supporting materials or legal materials used by the author need to be referenced through the use of hyperlinks, which need to be included in the body of the text.
The file needs to be only in the .doc / .docx format and must be named as “Title_CLUD Blog”.
The title must not exceed 10 words and must briefly describe the content of the blog.
Metadata of the file must not disclose any identification of the author, including name and institutional affiliation.
