

Professor K Vidyullatha Reddy has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of National Law University Odisha (NLUO).
The appointment was announced by the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) University of Law, Hyderabad, with which Prof. Reddy was associated for twenty-six years.
Before this appointment, Prof. Reddy served as Registrar of NALSAR, a role she took on in January 2023. She has also served as Head of the Department of Management Studies at NALSAR. Her administrative record at the university includes stints as Convener of the Exam Committee, the Moot Court Committee, the Admission Committee and the Placement Committee. She has been a member of NALSAR's Academic Council, Executive Council and General Council.
Professor Reddy holds a Ph.D in Environmental Law and is a subject expert in the field. She has headed NALSAR's Dr. SP Chatterjee Centre for Environmental Law, Climate Change and Policy Research for over twenty years. At NALSAR, she has taught Law of Evidence, Banking and Finance Law, and Environmental Law. Before joining NALSAR, she served for four years as in-charge Principal of Manair Law College, Khammam.
She has authored two editions of "Solid Waste-Law and Practice" and edited a book on Consumer Law. She has published more than twenty research papers and is Editor-in-Chief of NALSAR's "Environmental Law and Practice Review".
Her research work includes a study on women's coparcenary rights that fed into legislative amendments on women's property rights, and a study on waste management in Hyderabad. She has also worked to institutionalise legal aid at NALSAR, including helping set up a legal aid centre at the Warangal district court.
Prof. Reddy will succeed Prof. (Dr.) Rangin Pallav Tripathy, who has been serving as Vice Chancellor (In-Charge) of NLUO.
