
Dr Rajendra Prasad National Law University (RPNLU), Prayagraj, hosted an orientation programme for the foundation batch of LL.M. (Public Law) and Ph.D. (Law) scholars.
Vice Chancellor, RPNLU, Senior Prof (Dr) Usha Tandon, welcomed the distinguished guests and the newly admitted scholars.
In her address, she outlined the University’s vision, the academic structure of the courses, and the consultative role of faculty members. She also elaborated on the responsibilities of research scholars and highlighted the significance of values and ethics in the legal profession.
University School of Law and Legal Studies, GGSIP University, Prof Anuj Kumar Vaksha, emphasized the significance of research in legal education. He traced the evolution of legal research from prehistoric times to contemporary developments. He reflected on the impact of artificial intelligence in research, questioning whether it could bring rapid and transformative changes.
He expressed pride in India's revival of its intellectual heritage through the development of institutions such as National Law Universities (NLUs), research institutions, and the revival of its rich educational system.
Campus Law Centre, Delhi University, Prof Kshitij Kumar Singh, stressed the importance of research and its multi-dimensional aspects. He urged scholars to engage deeply in research free from preconceived notions, and to cultivate a critical and analytical approach.
Referring to the universal spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, he stressed that research must transcend narrow boundaries and contribute to the greater good. He also advised the judicious usage of artificial intelligence and the selfless pursuit of knowledge.
Registrar, RPNLU, Shri Satya Prakash delivered the vote of thanks and congratulated the newly admitted research scholars. Ph.D. Coordinator Dr Deepak Sharma, and LL.M. Coordinator, Dr Sonika, apprised the scholars about the course structure and program guidelines for the respective courses.
