AIL Mohali wins 6th HPNLU National Moot

The competition witnessed participation from 74 teams across the country.

A team from Army Institute of Law (AIL), Mohali has won the 6th National Moot Court Competition, 2026 hosted by Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla in collaboration with the National Human Rights Commission of India held on March 26-27, 2026.

The AIL, Mohali team members were Simran, Satviki Saran and Parinaz Kaur.

The team from School of Excellence in Law, Tamil Nadu Dr Ambedkar Law University comprising Ahamed Akhill R, Harish MS and T Harish emerged as the runners-up team. Harish MS also won the Best Orator (Male) award.

Teresa Chalakkal of Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Patiala won the Best Orator (Female) award.

Amman Khan from Jamia Millia Islamia University won the Best Researcher award.

The final round of the competition was adjudicated by Himachal Pradesh High Court Justices Ajay Mohan Goel, Sushil Kukreja and Romesh Verma; Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur Vice-Chancellor Prof (Dr) Vijender Kumar; and Senior Advocate Peeyush Verma.

6th HPNLU National Moot

This year's moot problem dealt with issues of freedom of speech and expression in the context of public interest, national sovereignty, and cyber terrorism.
