Bar & Bench

National Law University, Delhi, through its Centre for Regulatory Studies (CRS), in academic collaboration with Mentblue, has announced the second batch of its Certificate Course on Contract & Commercial Drafting: Strategy and Negotiation, under The Practice Series. The course commences on 10th October 2026 and runs through December 2026.

About The Practice Series

The Practice Series is a joint initiative of the Centre for Regulatory Studies at National Law University, Delhi, and Mentblue, India’s practitioner-led legal education platform. The series comprises short, intensive certificate courses built to close the gap between classroom learning and the realities of professional practice. Courses under the series are certified by NLU Delhi, with curricula approved by the University and supervised by the Centre for Regulatory Studies.

Across 24+ cohorts, the Practice Series has trained over 2,400 participants. Alumni of the programme are placed across India’s leading law firms and corporates, including Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, AZB & Partners, JSA Advocates & Solicitors, S&R Associates, Trilegal, Khaitan & Co, Nishith Desai Associates, CMS IndusLaw, Saraf & Partners, DSK Legal, TT&A, KPMG, Infosys, Jio Star, HDFC Bank, Bajaj Finserv, and EY.

About the Course

This 2+ month intensive certificate course takes participants through a commercial contract the way it is actually drafted, negotiated, and enforced in practice. Across 20 live online sessions, partners and senior practitioners from India’s leading law firms and in-house teams walk participants through the full contract lifecycle, from term sheet to execution, review, negotiation, and enforcement, using the frameworks and documents they use in live mandates.

The programme is built for participants who want to move from knowing contract law to drafting the contract. It covers over 30 critical drafts across 10+ legal domains, with live drafting walkthroughs, redlining exercises, and annotated agreements drawn from real Indian commercial practice.
