Startup Odisha Yatra 2.0 reaches NLU Odisha campus

Launched by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Startup Odisha Yatra 2.0 aims at scouting grassroots innovators, women entrepreneurs and promoting entrepreneurship among the youth.

Startup Odisha Yatra 2.0, a State government initiative launched to encourage students to try their hand at entrepreneurship, recently reached the National Law University, Odisha campus.

The programme was envisioned by the University's Innovation Council and organized by LexTech - Centre for Law, Entrepreneurship & Innovation at NLU Odisha. LexTech is dedicated to incubating, accelerating and mentoring innovative startups within and outside NLU Odisha.

The Startup Odisha Yatra van reached the NLU Odisha campus on September 2, and was marked by the presence of Registrar Prof Yogesh Pratap Singh and Vice-Chancellor Prof Ved Kumari. The event was coordinated by faculty advisors Madhubrata Rayasingh, Dr Arjyalopa Mishra, Dr Sudatta Barik and Dr Mayank Tiwari.

Launched by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Startup Odisha Yatra 2.0 aims at scouting grassroots innovators, women entrepreneurs and promoting entrepreneurship among the youth. The Yatra will cover over 100 educational institutions in 30 districts over a period of 60 days. The State has a mission of promoting and incubating 5,000 startups by 2025.

A boot camp was organized at the NLU Odisha campus premises to encourage idea generation and to develop the spirit of entrepreneurship among students. A total of 14 ideas were pitched by the students of the University. These will be evaluated and the winners will be awarded cash prizes by the Odisha government.
