NUJS Kolkata wins ADC-ICC Asia-Pacific Commercial Mediation Competition

National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), Kolkata, emerged winners of the ADC-ICC Asia-Pacific Commercial Mediation Competition 2021. The competition was held from the 10th to 12th of September, 2021.

NUJS made history yet again by becoming the first Indian team ever to win an ICC Mediation Competition, by winning the ADC-ICC Asia-Pacific Commercial Mediation Competition 2021.

The competition organized by the Australian Disputes Centre and the International Chambers of Commerce is focused on international commercial law and mediation. The Competition also acts as a qualifier to the ICC International Commercial Mediation Competition, held annually at the ICC Global Headquarters in Paris.

The team comprising of Ayushi Thakur, Deeksha Viswanathan, Kaira Pinheiro and Saiesh Kamath was awarded the Henry Jolson prize as the winning team and will have preferential entry into the 17th Annual ICC Mediation Competition in Paris 2022.

The team, coached by Mr. AJ Jawad (professional mediator) and Ms. Aastha Malhotra (NUJS Class of 2022), also received internships with the Australian Disputes Center.
