RecTracker: GNLU 2020 batch secures 49 jobs, 15 lakh average salary package
The 2020 graduating batch of Gujarat National Law University (GNLU), Gandhinagar has secured a record-breaking 49 jobs as of the recently concluded Day One round of placements.
This number includes 19 PPOs and 22 offers accepted on Day Zero. 5 jobs were secured on Day One, and 3 Training Contracts/Vacations Schemes at international law firms were bagged by students of the 2020 batch of GNLU.
As per a release by the Committee on Recruitment Affairs at GNLU, the average salary offered by these law firms is Rs 15 lakh.
Among the law firms hiring from GNLU were Trilegal with 15 hires, followed by Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas with 13. Khaitan & Co. made 6 hires, while Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and IndusLaw made 5 hires each. AZB & Partners and J Sagar Associates made one hire each.

The students of the 2020 batch also secured Training Contracts at international firms such as Linklaters, Herbert Smith Freehills, and Singaporean firm Allen & Gledhill LLP.
GNLU Director Dr Bimal Patel said in the release,
“With the highest number of students getting placed in top tier Indian and international law firms with an average package of Rs. 15 lakh, the GNLU brand is firmly established. GNLU’s emphasis on holistic development – teaching, research, extension and training, sustained by the GNLU faculty and staff, is paying a rich dividend to students.
India needs highly skilled lawyers, legal advisers, researchers and I am sure GNLU will make the apt contribution to the nation’s development agenda. I am thankful to my colleagues Dr Nidhi Buch, Faculty Convener, Mr Nimesh Dave, Internship and Placement Coordinator, and other faculty colleagues for achieving the highest ever recruitment record.”
