Amicus assists JK Cement in acquiring 60% stake in Acro Paints

The acquisition has been made for an amount of ₹153 crores.

JK Cement, through its wholly owned subsidiary JK Paints and Coatings Ltd, has acquired 60% stake in Acro Paints Limited for ₹153 crores.

Amicus acted as legal counsel to the acquirer in this transaction and undertook detailed due diligence of the target, structured the transaction, and set out the documentation.

The transaction team led by Madhav Rastogi (Partner) consisted of Akriti Gupta (Associate) and Vibhor Goel (Associate).

Yogesh Chaudhry (Partner) advised on the real estate assets of the target.

The acquisition is a step towards fast-tracking JK Cement's entry into the paints business, expanding its products offerings and potentially foraying into new markets, as per a statement.

Acro Paints is a leading manufacturer in northern India of architectural and high-performance paints and coatings.
