Sequoia sold its entire shareholding in OneDirect (ODCEM Technologies Private Limited) to Gupshup.

Luthra & Luthra Partners Law Offices acted for Sequoia on the deal.

The team was led by Partner Nitin Gera and was ably supported by Associate Kartik Chatrath.

This is Gupshup’s fourth acquisition in 2022 and its fifth since September 2021. It has also been reported that Gupshup is on track to raise its pre-IPO funding round despite the tight liquidity environment.

This transaction will strengthen Gupshup’s suite of conversational solutions and infrastructure by enabling enhanced omnichannel conversational capabilities backed by live agent assist solutions for aligning workflows, integrations with existing CRM along with helpdesk systems.

OneDirect’s platform among other things, facilitates businesses to manage customer dialogs across numerous channels, including Google Business Messenger, SMS, WhatsApp, Instagram, Email etc.

It has successfully leveraged this platform greatly to transform into one of the key players in delivering AI enabled customer services.
