Advocate Rohit Sud elected President of the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association

The polling for the Bar Association's executive body was held on Friday.

Advocate Rohit Sud was elected the President of Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association (PHHCBA) on Saturday.

The polling for the Bar Association's executive body was held on Friday.

In the vote count that concluded around midnight, Sud secured 1,483 votes, defeating his nearest rival Senior Advocate Parminder Singh Sekhon by 96 votes. Sekhon secured 1387 votes.

A total of six candidates were in fray for the post of President.

Meanwhile, Advocate Ashish Bishnoi was elected as the Vice-President of PHHCBA. He secured 1856 votes to defeat Advocate Sunil Agnihotri, who secured 1346 votes.

Advocates Parampreet Singh Bajwa (Harry) with 1827 votes, Dr Kirandeep Kaur with 1321 votes and Advocate Ashish Rana with 1231 votes were elected as Secretary, Joint Secretary and Treasurer, respectively.

Advocate Kamla Malik was elected Lady Member. She secured 1856 votes and defeated Dr Rinki K Singhania, who secured 1684 votes.
